Welcome to our website.

Please take time to explore this site and check out our forthcoming events. Do also visit us in person if/when you are in Cornwall. The Prayer Garden is always open for personal reflection.  Our address is:

Degibna Prayer Chapel

Degibna Lane

Helston

Cornwall

TR12 7PR

When it was built at the beginning of the 20th century, Degibna Methodist Church served a thriving, tightly-knit community. At the beginning of the 21st century, the local community has all but disappeared, to be replaced by a much more mobile population. People already travel many miles to park in the adjacent National Trust car park and enjoy the peaceful walks and splendid views. Many others would welcome respite from the pace of modern-day life. Now, as Degibna Prayer Chapel, we believe that this is the community we are called to serve in our day and age.

Our Vision

We seek to be a place set apart for worship & wonder, reflection & refreshment,
peace & prayer, hospitality & healing. As a Circuit, District and Ecumenical resource, we also seek to be used by individuals and groups from the wider community. All are welcome in this place.

We seek to be a place set apart:

  • for regular worship.

  • for individuals to spend time in prayer.

  • for small groups to share in prayer.

  • for events to encourage prayer.

  • as a place of retreat, healing and hospitality.

  • as a centre for Training Days and Quiet Days.

  • as a focus for groups, schools & individuals using the area.

  • where passers-by can be encouraged to pray.

  • where the chapel is open at times for rest and prayer.

  • where the garden is open at all times for rest and prayer.

We welcome your interest, prayers and support as we continue to seek to know and follow God's will.
